How to enable mod_rewrite on the portable WAMPP stack, Server2Go.

To enable mod_rewrite on Server2Go, a USB portable and complete WAMPP Server-Stack:

  • Open the file \server\config_tpl\httpd.conf with notepad++ (recommended for windows)
  • Around line 122 un-comment the line:

  1. LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so

  • Around line 212 find the following code:

  1.     #
    
  2.     # AllowOverride controls what directives may be placed in .htaccess
    files.
    
  3.     # It can be "All", "None", or any combination
    of the keywords:
    
  4.     #   Options FileInfo AuthConfig Limit
    
  5.     #
    
  6.     AllowOverride None

  • Change it to allow all:

  1.     AllowOverride All

  • Restart Server2Go
