Tech Support: Known Issues and Solutions

Windows Vista: you will also need the file d3drm.dll

Windows 7: will not run. Screen flickers. Was able to get it to run in a Windows XP virtual machine on Win 7.

About Project "Diggs"

I developed the Project "Diggs" tech demo to show that a platform style adventure game could be made with the 3D Rad game engine (version 5.2). I do not recommend using 3D Rad v5.2 as it is an older DOS based engine. I complied and released this demo in June of 2003. Update: 3D Rad has been revamped and the new windows based version 6 is looking much better than the POS v5.2.

The Project Diggs tech demo will not become a completed game. It was created to show that a game could be made. This Technology Demo contains: representative game play, most of the major Player Character abilities, and general style of the game. It is only intended to show that the game can be made. This tech demo is by no means a complete and finished level of an actual game. Nor does it have the actual enemy AI, full player controls, dynamic camera controls, special effects, animations, HUD, etc...

Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 9x/2000/ME/XP
  • CPU: 700Mhz cpu
  • RAM: 128Mb Ram
  • Hard Drive: 30 MB or more of free space
  • Video: Video card with 32 MB or more memory & DirectX 8.x or greater
  • Input: Keyboard and Mouse
